Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
This policy explains what personal data GameShorts collects, why, who we share it with, and your rights. The controller of your data is Daniel Attias, reachable at hello@getgameshorts.com. We follow the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law and, for visitors in the European Union and United Kingdom, the GDPR.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and account ID | To sign you in, link your plan to you, and send service emails such as sign-in links | Performing our contract with you |
| Plan and usage (free game used, games used this month, subscription status) | To apply your plan's limits | Contract |
| Billing details | Handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. We receive your email, subscription status and a customer-portal link, never your full card number | Contract; legal obligations |
| Steam links, videos you upload, game name and description, and the videos, text and voice we make | To make your videos | Contract |
| IP address and request logs | Security, abuse prevention and rate limits | Legitimate interest in keeping the service safe |
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or advertising trackers.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that run GameShorts for us, under their own data protection terms:
- Render (hosting, United States): runs our servers and stores job files.
- Supabase: sign-in and account records.
- Lemon Squeezy: payments and subscriptions, as merchant of record.
- Anthropic: receives the game's name, Steam description and still frames from the video so its AI model can write the headline, narration and captions. We use Anthropic's commercial API.
- Google: only if you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in.
- Valve / Steam: when you paste a Steam link, our server downloads that game's public store data, trailer and header image from Steam.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users' safety.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside Israel and the EU, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or the providers' standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded videos, downloaded trailers and finished videos: deleted automatically about 48 hours after creation.
- Account and plan records: while your account exists. We delete them within 30 days after you ask us to close your account.
- Billing records: kept by Lemon Squeezy as tax law requires.
- Server logs: kept for a limited time by our hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to or limit how we use it. Email hello@getgameshorts.com from the address on your account. We answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority or, in the EU/UK, to your local data protection authority.
Cookies and local storage
We use only what is needed for the site to work. See the Cookie Policy.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Secret keys stay on our server. Account data is only reachable by our server. Video jobs are stored under long random links that are not listed anywhere. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
GameShorts is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child gave us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update the date above when this policy changes, and email account holders about important changes.
